To help you narrow your frame choices it can be helpful to consider what kind of image you'd like to project and when you're going to wear your glasses. Do you want to look serious and intelligent or cheerful and outgoing? Do you want your frames to make a statement or to blend into the background? Are you goiing to wear your glasses in the office or mostly at the weekends? Are you looking for a particular colour or shape? Have you considered having more than one pair of frames? You may also want to consider what your frame will be made of. |

Metal frames have adjustable nose pads and can be soldered if they break. It's possible for them to weigh only a few grams which makes them very comfortable to wear. People who are allergic to nickel, or have found their existing metal frame became pitted or corroded may wish to consider frames made of stainless steel, titanium or the more flexible B-titanium to avoid such problems in the future. Our range of titanium Minima Rimless frames with a ten-year warranty are a particularly good option as are the exciting ic-berlin range with no screws or welds. |

Plastic frames appear solid but, like their metal counterparts, how much they weigh varies a lot. If you're looking for something very light you'll find Optyl a pleasure to wear. Some frames are a mixture of metal and plastic like the Dilem frames that you see on the right and at the top of the page. Dilem have metal fronts and interchangeable plastic sides which is an exciting way to have more than one look with just one frame - find out more on their website: www.dilem.fr

For many people choosing a spectacle frame can be a daunting task so at Sercombe and Matheson Opticians we aim to make the whole experience pleasant and easy. If you struggle to see yourself clearly when you're trying frames on, you'll find our Ezivue very helpful. This handy gadget takes digital photos of you wearing the frame and displays them on the monitor for you to view. Alternatively, we can arrange to put some disposable contact lenses in so you can get a good view of yourself in the mirror. All our friendly and helpful staff are trained to help you choose something that looks great, fits comfortably and suits your prescription and your budget. Once you've chosen a frame, one of our dispensing opticians will discuss lens options, make adjustments to the frame to optimize the fit and take measurements to ensure the lenses will be positioned correctly.
